Smriti Irani – Narendra Modi’s great talent to select the best talent

Smriti Irani – Narendra Modi’s great talent to select the best talent

Right from the day, Narendra Modi changed the face of Gujarat, there has been a question, that’s how he is able to perform in such way. It’s been years of independence and no minister of India has performed, worked or shown proper interest in public welfare, except very few. But working style of Narendra Modi has attracted the eyes of people around the world that how he is working. The first thing is his dedication towards his work, clear power of management, right intentions, and selection of the right people.

It is now known to all that he has an expert team of people, who are working day and night to bring the change. Same team was with him in Gujarat. The people, who he finds really talented, but with a spirit to serve the nation are picked by him as his own team.

Apart from the people, working behind the scenes, he has selected people, who have a fire to bring change in the nation. Corruption and politics go hand in hand in India. But with Narendra Modi things are totally different. In Gujarat, the idiom, “khato nathi ane khava deto nathi” was famous for him. This means neither he accepts any bribe nor he lets anyone bribe anyone.

Now when he is center of Indian politics, we regularly witness his virtue of leading and at the same time fighting against the corrupted system. He has raised some strong pillars in his ministry, who have same working spirit like he does have.

Dr. Harshvardhan, Arun Jaitley, Shushma Swaraj and many more are known and apt names from his ministry. Smriti Irani as his HRD minister has always raised a question among the opposition. The opposition has left no stone unturned to show her selection was the wrong selection.

But a single day in parliament has changed perceptions of an entire nation towards the functioning of HRD ministry and other ministries of Narendra Modi government. Smriti Irani’s speech in parliament became the talk of the nation. For more than a week, she and her speech kept on trending on Social Media.

Her speech of 59 minutes made people speak out “ya devi sarva bhutesu, Shakti rupen sansthita, namastasyai, namastasyai, namo namah”

When a woman comes to show her power, entire parliament was silent. She clearly shut the mouths of people, who were questioning her abilities.

Though it is far away from ideology on our blog to get into controversial topics, we would just like to say that digging out to the root cause of problems is the best way of working style of Narendra Modi government.

Even if we just take an example from her speech, we should feel proud that the ministry has taken pains to find out hate remarks in the study material. The big plus point is Narendra Modi government is trying to eliminate political study material and not including their own chapters.

Narendra Modi has always idealized Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a good person at heart, a poet at heart and a very respectable politician. Smriti Irani has also not forgotten to mention him in her speech. His poem for the nation will make any nation lover think once again about the political situation and the way Narendra Modi is working to take it ahead.

Atal ji ne kaha tha… Bharat koi bhoomi ka tukda nahi hai.. jeeta jaagta rashtra purush hai… Hum jiyenge toh is…

Posted by TIMES NOW on Wednesday, February 24, 2016

“Bharat koi bhoomi ka tukda nahi hai, jeeta jaagta rashtrapurush hai.”

“Yeh vandan ki dharti hai, abhinandan ki dharti hai….Yeh arpan ki bhoomi hai, darpan ki bhoomi hai.”

“Yahaan ki nadi nadi hamaare liye Ganga hai, iska kankar kankar hamaare liye Shankar hai.”

“Hum jiyenge to iss Bharat ke liye, marenge to iss Bharat ke liye.”

“Aur marne ke baad bhi, Ganga jal mein behti huee humaare asthiyon ko koi sunega, to ek hi awaz aayegi – Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Every minister of Narendra Modi government is repeatedly proving their working abilities. Smriti Irani has done that. Recent budget has cleared the many times, questioned question that what is the Narendra Modi government doing for farmers? Shushma Swaraj is continually working and acting even in small cases. Her active presence on Twitter and immediate actions have already won praise. Health missions and plans launched by Dr. Harshvardhan and Narendra Modi has gradually started showing results in the form of Ayush and acceptance of Ayurveda and Homeopathy. The Even Railway Ministry has become active.

This is the change and this is what India wanted. By the time, 5 years will be over, the whole nation will witness a change.

International Conference on Rule of Law Addressed by PM Modi

In 2015, the major International agreements which were signed by PM Modi include: Paris Agreement on the Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Considering these two agreements, an international conference was organized on 4th March 2016, to discuss all about the goals of sustainable development. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi addressed this International Conference on Rule of Law in order to support 2030 Development Agenda.

The main objective of this conference was to spread awareness about Climate Justice and to bring together the Scientists, Environmentalists, Judges and Chief Justices to discuss about environmental issues such as waste management, climate change, disaster management, air pollution, threat to marine environment, global warming, impacts on wildlife, environment and forest, remedies and judicial mechanism.

In the words of PM Modi –

“बहुजन हिताय, बहुजन सुखाय’, ‘सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनो”

“लोकाः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु’.

Anything which is not sustainable or compromises on the ability of future generation to fulfill the requirements cannot be termed as Development. In actual, Development is an inclusive and sustainable process which is concerned with the wellbeing and happiness of the maximum number of people. According to him, we all have a strong belief in sustainability and we respect the laws of nature that have great values for us. Even, the Practice of Coexistence and Co-Life can help us in many ways.

Shri Narendra Modi stated that Sustainable Development is our major priority. The main objective of our government is to encourage the skill development, education, entrepreneurship, and digital connectivity in a supportive manner. All the possible ways can become sustainable only when all the stakeholders get benefitted.

According to him, the rules and regulations play an important role to achieve sustainable development goals. These will also facilitate the development process. He also mentioned that in the September of the last year, he attended the meeting of the UN General Assembly where the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 were adopted which indicate the clear understanding of environmental, social and economic linkages that defines our life style.

He also mentioned that the problems faced by people in India are not same. But our collective efforts can surely lead to achieve success. For that, we should avoid all the contradictions between our need to develop sustainably. He also added that our government has been treating this challenge of Climate Justice as an opportunity and we believe in Karma. In our country, people worship nature like Moon, Sun, Rivers, Rain, Animals, Air and Fire and they live in harmony with the elements of nature as several mythological values have been connected with that. In Indian culture, Nature being an integral part, has been passed across many generations. We have many guiding principles associated with religion as well as nature that we all respect and follow since long years.

A Well Known Sanskrit Shalok:

ॐ सर्वेशां स्वस्तिर्भवतु । सर्वेशां शान्तिर्भवतु ।

सर्वेशां पुर्णंभवतु । सर्वेशां मङ्गलंभवतु ।।

It means that we always pray for welfare, peace, fulfillment and sustainability of all; at all places and for all times.

For this commitment, we should remember that our nation can play the best role of leadership in sustainable development. He described this in his own way.  According to him, the Medication and Yoga practice helps us to maintain a balance between contentment and desires and it also leads us to a sustainable and moderation lifestyle. Yoga practices are very comprehensive and the Yam, Niyam and Pratyahar teach us control, discipline and austerity.

Prime Minister Shri PM Modi praised the efforts of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and he added that we all should use the natural resources while maintaining the balance between nature and life and we should act as “Trustee”. If we have to provide a healthy environment to our future generation, then it is the responsibility of every citizen to take initiatives to protect nature.

According to Shri Narendra Modi, the biggest challenge of environment is poverty and it is the main objective of our government to eradicate poverty. For that, we have been executing various plans and programs that target the development criteria as well. He said that the marginalized, poor and vulnerable groups have very less resources in order to cope with the climate changes.

For this, Prime Minister Shri Modi had already convinced the world at Paris for Sustainable lifestyle. According to him, Climate justice belongs to the justice of 3 billion poor people of the world who have been suffering for so long. These both concepts were also presented in the Paris Agreement. Along with this, a Green Budget was also presented. The highlights of Union Budget 2016-17 include: LPG benefits for the 50 Million BPL families which will save the cutting of trees.

Considering the need of Climate Justice, PM Modi said that the rules, regulations, principles and practices can be implemented in a similar way for such conditions. He stated that the responsibilities at COP-21 underline the Indian Ethos that will work for changing human lifestyle along with the changes in the monetary activities.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana –Scheme for Providing Free LPG Connections to Women from BPL Households

On 10 March 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana with a budget of 8000 Crore Rupees to provide LPG connections at free of cost to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) Families. This scheme was also announced in the Union Budget of year 2016-17. This initiative has been taken by Prime Minister PM Modi to facilitate the ways of living in the rural and semi urban areas of the country.

Features of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana:

Since long years, women of India have faced many health issues due to the burning of fuels during cooking food. They have suffered a lot. To provide a remedial solution for their health and to improvise the cooking process, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had announced this scheme. It will also empower women living in the rural areas and also ensure their protective health. The connections will be given to the women members of BPL families and poor households.

  • This scheme will provide 5 Crore LPG connections to the families who belong to BPL categories.

  • Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will be implemented over three years, the FY 2016-2017, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019.

  • Under this scheme, financial support of Rupees 1600 will be provided for each LPG connection to the BPL families.

  • There will be consultation with the Union Territories and State Government so that the eligible BPL families will be identified.

  • This Scheme will provide benefits to approx. 1 Crore 50 Lakh people below poverty line.

  • BPL families will get LPG connections from April of this year and there will a target to cover maximum BPL families up to March 2019.

  • Poor families who have limited access to cooking gas will be given connection. This scheme will cover many middle class families and affluent households in the urban and semi urban areas.

BPL Families:

In India, an economic threshold or benchmark is used to term the people below the poverty line. When the family earning is below that threshold value, then these are considered as BPL families. Various parameters are used to identify the financial status of the families and these may vary from state to state.

Poverty Line in India:

The Indian Government has defined the poverty line with a method which is based on the total expenditures of the family for daily needs.

Ninth Five Year Plan (1995-2002): The total number of Below Poverty Line Families during 9th plan were 650000, which was set on the basis of family income (less than 20000). In 2002, total 387000 BPL families were identified. After that, the poverty line was decided on the basis of monthly expenses on food, health, electricity, education and transport.

Tenth Five Year Plan (2002-2007): During 10th plan, the degree of deprivation was based on the thirteen parameters which include: landholding, food security, literacy status, sanitation, clothing, consumer durables, labour force, status of children, means of livelihood, cause of migration and type of indebtedness. According to survey reports, there were total 363 million people who lived in poverty.

Significance of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana:

In our nation, it has been observed that people living under the poverty line have limited access to LPG connections and because of which they have to suffer a lot. Even the fossil fuels which are used by them for cooking or other homely tasks cause many health hazards like respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, lung infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It has also become the major cause of premature deaths in India. According to World Health Organization, there were 5 lakh deaths reported with the cooking based on the fossil fuels. The burning of fossil fuels also causes environment pollution. The polluted air entrapped inside the living areas is harmful for the young kids. According to the expertise reports, it is observed that the open fire in kitchen areas causes pollution equivalent to the burning of 400 cigarettes/hour.

This will be the major initiative that has been taken by the Prime Minister of India to help poor people who are struggling hard for the living. It will be the first time in history that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has agreed to implement the welfare scheme which will improve the living standards of people. For Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, budget provision of Rs. 2000 Crore had announced by the Finance Minister in 2016-17 to provide free LPG connections to women belonging to BPL families.

Providing LPG connections under this scheme will also ensure the health standards of the families living in the rural areas. This in turn, effectively reduce the illness and disease rate. It will also save the time of women which they have to spend while cooking food. The rural youth in the different states will get employment for supplying LPG cylinders to the families.

Move beyond women development to women-led development

We, women are kinetics of this men centric world. India had glorious and magnificent historical precedent, where too many great women had created an example. For a balanced societal ecosystem, women are equivalent responsible. Despite of this fact we are still combating for the right acknowledgement and place. Why are we forgetting?

All a woman needs to understand and asses their value without bogging down with inferiority complex.

Man is not as anticipative as a woman. Women are gifted to understand the problems before their occurrence and they should use their power in constructive manner. He asked women representatives to use their power and understanding for betterment of society.

They should get acknowledgement for their work.

He added, “Women are more easily technological adapted than men.” As a public representative, how we can use technology to reach out to voters and understand their problems. How we can work for our constituency using technology.

He said to women members of parliament to prepare an E-portal where their thoughts and issues can be raised there.
